| For centuries, the beneficial relationship between music and healing has been well established. We now have substantial documentation of the responsiveness to and appreciation of music by peoples of all ages and cultures. Music played on the harp has several unique healing properties. Historically, the harp has been a symbol of relief and comfort............... |
| Over the years that I have been making and demonstrating harps, I have often noticed the responses of many people as I have been playing.....from intense wellbeing to being overcome to the point of tears.....saying things like....."That really touched my Heart"..... Because of requests from previous harp purchasing clients I have developed a managable 27 string harp ( C below middle C) built in beautiful Australian Red Cedar and strung so that the sound produced is Calming and Mellow....The sales of this instrument are quickly growing and will seemingly surpass the combined sales of all my Lapharpscombined. Hence I have increased production of these, which I have aptly re-named.... The Therapy Harp. Because these harps are built from quality solid timber and have all brass tuning pegs, eyelets and bridgepins They are not as cheap as other "therapy" harps, often made with all plywood, painted and without bridgepins (levers can be added if required) but are generously priced because of the "honorable" work that they will be engaged in........ |
